boxing mitts
Boxing mitts (also known as focus pads or punch mitts) are an essential coaching tool for any serious fighter. They are used by a trainer or training partner to hold targets for the fighter, allowing precise practice of punching combinations, timing, speed and accuracy – all in a dynamic, reactive way that a punch bag simply cannot replicate.
Focus pads are used across all striking disciplines – boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA and Krav Maga. Choosing the right type depends on how you train.
Flat boxing mitts are designed purely for hand strikes – jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts. Their compact, curved shape helps the holder position targets quickly and with minimal wrist strain. They are the standard choice for boxing and combination drills. Kick pads and Thai pads are larger and more heavily padded, designed to absorb powerful leg kicks, knees and elbows in addition to punches – the go-to tool for Muay Thai and MMA training. You will find these in our dedicated Thai pads and kick shields section.
How to choose boxing mitts? For pure boxing and combination drills, a standard pair of flat mitts is the best choice. If you train Krav Maga or want a versatile single pad for body shots and short-range strikes, consider a striking shield or body pad. For coaches and trainers working with multiple fighters daily, leather mitts offer superior durability and a better feel. For beginners and recreational athletes, synthetic leather (PU) mitts deliver great value at a lower price point.
At FightStuff you will find boxing mitts from our own King Fighter brand as well as RDX – covering everything from entry-level sparring pads to professional-grade curved mitts. Pair them with boxing gloves and hand wraps

Train smarter, not just harder – Working with focus mitts forces you to react to a moving target, improving head movement, footwork and combination flow far beyond what static bag work can offer. Even just two rounds of mitt work with a good partner can sharpen your technique dramatically.
Easy maintenance – Synthetic leather mitts can be wiped down after each session with a damp cloth. Leather mitts benefit from occasional conditioning to maintain their shape and extend their lifespan.
Complete your training setup – Boxing mitts work best as part of a full kit. Browse our boxing gloves, MMA gloves, shin guards and punch bags to build out everything you need for a productive training session.
